Watching Movie Trailers for ESL Comprehension

On the Internet, go to http://www.learnenglishfeelgood.com/eslvideo/index.html

Click on Movie Trailers 1
Select one of the movie trailers
(You need Quick Time)
Part 1: Listen and watch as often as you need too.
Take the short comprehension test.
Part 2: Write a short summary of what the trailer was about. (3-5) sentences
Part 3: Rewrite your content, using scripting. (For an example of scripting go to http://esl.about.com/od/speakingadvanced/a/sscripting.htm)

  1. Divide your sentences into thought groups.
  2. In each thought group, boldface the content words that you will stress.
  3. Use capital letters for the words you want to really emphasize.

Part 4: You will practice reading your scripted content with a partner, and then present (speak it) it before the class.
